We would rather tell you honestly where we currently fall short than claim a standard we haven't met. This page does that.
The recognised standard for website accessibility is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). We are working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
At the moment, this website is partially conformant. Parts of it meet the standard and parts of it don't. The gaps we know about are listed below.
What the law requires of a business our size. Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act requires designated public sector organisations, and businesses with 50 or more employees, to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA on their public websites. We have fewer than 20 employees, so that particular requirement does not apply to us.
We are working toward the newer WCAG 2.1 standard anyway, because a website nobody can use is a problem whether or not a regulation says so.
The AODA duties that do apply to a business our size — accessible customer service, providing information in a format that works for you on request, an accessible way to give us feedback, and staff training — are covered in the sections below.
Separately, the Ontario Human Rights Code requires us to accommodate people with disabilities regardless of how many employees we have. That one has no size threshold and we take it seriously.
We reviewed this website in September 2026 and found the following problems. We are being specific about them because vague statements help nobody.
Our forms don't have proper labels. The fields on our estimate and contact forms are identified only by the faint example text inside them, which disappears as soon as you start typing. Screen readers do not reliably announce what each field is for, and the required fields aren't marked in a way assistive technology can detect.
Some small text doesn't have enough colour contrast. A number of small orange labels, links and buttons sit just below the contrast ratio the standard requires against their backgrounds. They are legible for most people but harder work than they should be, particularly in bright light or for anyone with low vision.
There is no skip link. If you navigate by keyboard, you currently have to tab through the whole menu on every page before you reach the content.
We have not tested the site with screen readers from end to end. Our review used automated contrast measurement, a code review and keyboard testing, not a full assistive-technology test.
We have not yet set dates for fixing these. We are being straight with you about that rather than promising a timeline we might miss. When each one is fixed we will update this page and say so.
You never have to use our website to do business with us. If any part of it doesn't work for you, call us and we will handle the whole thing by phone — take your project details, arrange the inspection, discuss what we find, and talk you through the estimate.
You don't have to explain why, and it makes no difference to your price or to how we treat your job.
If our written estimates, invoices or other documents don't work for you in their standard form, tell us and we will work out something that does.
We would rather have that conversation with you than guess. Tell us what you need and we will do what we reasonably can, at no extra cost and without delay. If there is something we genuinely can't provide, we will say so honestly and find another way to get you the information.

This statement is based on a self-evaluation carried out in September 2026, covering the homepage, the estimate request form and the contact page.
The review used automated colour-contrast measurement, a review of the page code, and keyboard navigation testing. It did not include testing with screen readers, and it was not carried out by an independent accessibility auditor.
